Description of facilities: The apartment is comfortably furnished for 4 people. There are all normal facilities available, as described in the information. There is an outside Buanderie with Shower (useful after swimming) and with washing machine.

There is ample shaded car parking and guests can be completely independant by using the side entrance to the property and to the apartment. Although on the ground floor, restricted access to the apartment means wheelchair access is unfortunately very limited.

Description inside property: The Apartment has its own access through a side gate to the property. One enters through the compact but fully furnished kitchen, which has sink, cooker, Microwave, fridge, coffee machine etc. There is a hallway with separate toilet, Bathroom with tub and shower, bidet, and large sink. The Hallway leads to the double bedroom with double bed, wardrobe and set of drawers. Also off the hallway is the Lounge/ second bedroom, which has a sofabed (Very comfortable!), table, chairs TV/DVD etc. (Terrestial and UK channels)
The apartment is situated under the large terrace of the Villa, and directly opposite the large swimming pool (11x5m). Hirers have full use of the pool, large patio, BBQ area and garden. There is a variety of outdoor furniture and one can eat under the shade of Olive trees on the Patio. There is space for badminton, table-tennis and Boules, or just relaxing in the shade!




Description outside property: There is a large terrace around the pool ideal for sunbathing and relaxing, with lovely views over to the Maures range of hills. We also have space for more energetic pusuits such as badminton, table tennis or Boules. There is an outdoor bbq area ideal for 4 people, and additionally a summer kitchen with larger bbq for more people. There are numerous areas one can relax in with full sun or with full shade, or something in-between the two!

Description of local area and activities: La Marjolaine is ideally situated 2 mins off motorway exit 36 in the heart of the Var.
Driving 25 minutes due south will get you to the beaches of the Cote D'Azur, with St Maxime and Les Issambres being the closest. To the east you have Frejus and St Raphael (30 minutes) and further along the coast Cannes, Antibes, Nice and Monaco. To the west is St.Tropez (40 mins drive), Cassis, Toulon and Marseilles.

Should you want to find quieter areas, Only 25 mins north of the apartment is the Gorges du Verdon area, a vast, beautiful area of forests, rivers and lakes and of course the gorge itself, second only to the Grand Canyon in the USA. The whole of the Var and Provence abounds with pretty little villages perched on hilltops, and there are a huge number to explore within a 1 hours radius of La Marjolaine. Add to this the myriad Vineyards and degustation opportunities, and you really have something for everyone!

The whole area has endless possibilities for walking, canoing, riding, golf, (About 8 courses within a one hours drive!) tennis and virtually any pursuit, especially winetasting in any number of local vineyards!

Leisure Activities - Golf

Notes: St Endreol Golf and Spa is probably the finest course in the imediate area, only 10 minutes from the apartment! Add to this Valescure old and new courses, St Maxime and Beauvallon on the coast, with stunning views of the gulf of St Tropez, The Four Seasons resort at Tourettes, and there really are lots of golfing opportunities!
 

Leisure Activities - Skiing

Notes: Isola 2000, a large resort, is just a 2 hr drive away, also Auron, a lesser known but attractive, quieter resort is just 10 minutes away on the other side of the valley. Isola is a purpose built resort with good skiing for all levels, but lacking a bit in atmosphere. Wheras Auron has more charm and is a little more intimate and friendly. Also only about 2 hrs drive is Pra Loup and Barcelonette, smaller ski areas but with plenty of runs still.

Notes: The area abounds with opportunities and possibilities too numerous to mention here. Visitors would be best advised to check internet sites for specialist activities. Suffice to say, One can do most things with the coast so close, rivers and lakes all around and the mountains just to the north and given the excellent climate in the area.
