Description of facilities: La Rochelle has all the amenities you would require as we have made this truly a home from home, from hairdryers to letting your self unwind taking a sauna after a day out sight seeing, it realy does de stress the mind and body, gearing you up for the evenings bbq or visit to the village bars/restaurant. there are leather sofas and dining area that sits 6 people plus high chair. On the chillier evenings there is the wood burning stove in the kitchen to sit around and chat the night away. The down stairs walk in shower room is excellent for the less able bodied. The bedrooms are very spacous with plenty of storage facilitys, so no need to live out of your suitcase also the laundry room is adgacent to the garage, minimising the all too dreaded return home with laundry to sort.
Description inside property: La Rochelle has been extensivly renovated to a very high standard with our guests comfort in mind all the way. bedroom one has a double bed and single, bedroom two has 3 single beds,bedroom 3 has a kingsize bed all are spacous, light with sets of drawers and hanging rails, lots of storage space, a travel cot is also available, tea and coffe making facilities, radio alarms and fans for those great hot summer nights. The bathroom has a bath with power shower over, wash basin, a seperate wc is also on this floor. a seperate walk in shower room is downstairs. The lounge/dining area has the original wooden polished floor, there is sky sports, tv, dvd, video and sterio epuipment all available to our guest with comfy leather sofas to sit and unwind, patio doors open onto the garden area, which is south facing. What better way to start the day than sitting eating breakfast with the sun shining through. The kitchen is a mixture of old meets new , there is a wood burner for those not so warm evenings to sit by and chat with a glass of wine also a breakfast bar for those less formal meals. The downstairs shower wet room is off the kitchen area . through to the the boiler room you will find the utility room and cycle storage, where there is the washing machine, a drying area, bbq equipment, childrens garden toys etc.
Description outside property: The south facing large mainly laid to lawn garden with apple, peach and cherry trees,black berry, raspberry and gooseberry bushes and flowering borders, a hammock, trampoline, swing and ball games to name but a few. A stone built bbq area is a real must on summer evenings,besides the sound of the birds singing and owls hooting in the distance, the only other sound might be a passing tractor ideal for all to enjoy weither young or old.We have garden furniture, giving you the option of eating in or out doors. We have bycycles for the children and the grown ups, taking in this beautiful mayenne country side for the more advantureous, or just taking a walk up to the village which is a short walk (10 mins) with Bar restaurants,small supermarket, post office, hair dresser, village fishing pond (day tickets purchased from the bar tabac), a very warm and friendly greeting awaits all from the local villagers. The lawn area is a good size and many a game of cricket and footbal have been played on it. The drive way will accomodate 3 vehicles comfortably and the whole cottage is securely fenced and gated, no worries about the children wandering off. Our 2 acre field borders the cottage and at present is home to 2 very well behaved horses, who adore the children and my peaches from the tree when ripe, an added attraction to the children and the grown ups
Description of eco friendly facilities: Wherever possible we like to recycle waste products and have a large compost bin in the vegtable garden where we grow all our own vegtables according to season, we also have water butts that save rain water for watering the veg and garden. The toilets have been installed with the low water consumption syphons as well.

| Description of local area and activities: Weither you need a long weekend break, house hunting,a full week or two our cottage La Rochelle is situated on the Brittany, Normandy, Loire borders in the heart of the beautiful Mayenne country side yet only a short walk into the village with all the facilitys you could want, small friendly restaurants, bars and shops and the village pond that is restocked each year, day tickets are purchased from the bar in the village. From chateaux, markets towns, theme parks, delicous restaurants or an hours drive to the beaches or Le Mans famous racing events.The market towns of Laval, Ernee, and mayeene are just a short ride away. The historic town of Fougeres is a must on any ones list of activitves, with its walled fortess,cobbled walk ways and church to cinemas and bowling ally and mouth watering traditional french restaurants. Mount St Michel is a fantastic view to see at any time but in the evenings when all lit up is a marvel as is the port town of Granville with its delicious sea food restaurants. The D day beaches, war memorials, weither you are young, old or just indifferent, there really is some thing for every one. |

| Notes: The golf course at Laval has a superb course and is situated only 40 minutes drive away, the green fees are very acceptable, far cheaper than in the uk. Also within the 40 minutes drive area is golf des Rochers situated just out side the town of Vtire, situated within the grounds of the Rochers Chateax. |
