I advertise my property on other sites already, why advertise on another holiday rental website?
It is advantageous to have your property advertised on several websites because the rental websites will be listed at varying levels under different keyword searches on different search engines. Renters will use a large variety of keywords to find their holiday rental and in order to achieve greater exposure for your property it is widely accepted that you need to advertise on several sites.

No. You deal directly with the potential tenant. They contact you via the details you give on your advertisement. We take no commission on bookings. We simply charge a small annual advertising fee.

I have my own website, why do I need to advertise on this site?
Unless your site is high up on the result pages of search engines, combined with a public awareness campaign (by very expensive advertising), then nobody is going to find it even if you are accessible on one or two search engines. It is like trying to find a needle in a hay stack, it is there somewhere but almost impossible to find.
Rent Property Direct invests lots of time and money on search engine positioning and will generate far more visits than any individual rental property site. In addition we spend large amounts on advertising the site in the press in order to increase public awareness, allowing many more people to see your property.

Can I add a link to my personal website?
We are sorry but we do not allow any links to other websites, simply because we can not control their content. There are users who have more than one property on their personal or professional websites, and we do not want visitors, who are looking at our advertiser's properties, to be re-directed elsewhere. Unfortunately, we do not have the time to keep checking all the web links and their content.

How much does it cost, how do I pay and is it safe?
Special offer - 12 months free advertising to all new advertisers (owners and agents of holiday accommodation).
We are offering 1 years advertising & 6 photos for free. This is valid for any number of properties. It easy and quick:
Fill in details on Registration - click Register. This takes you to the Advertisers Option page - choose the number of properties to advertise (the price should be "0" in the Total column, if there is a value/number in this column, contact us) and click "purchase".
- On the Checkout page the total should be 0, click "proceed to payment" and a "Thank you" page will appear. To enter your properties details log in to your account from the "log in" link on the home page.
- From your admin area, click on "View properties" in the left hand side menu, click on "Update" and enter your properties details. When you have completed these pages, please remember to click on "submit for approval" on the contact information page.
This offer doesn't include extras such as listings, extra photos, feature property on the home page etc.
Normally we charge a small annual fee for advertising on our site. There is no commission.

For services like listings, extra photo or changing a photo, direct internet address the price will be 50% less than stated above if your advertisement has less than 6 months to run. All additional purchased services will expire on the same date as the advertisement.
Additional properties are charged at 49 GBP each.

** For the present time all properties will be selected randomly to appear on the featured properties column on various pages of the website, except on the home page where only properties which have paid are listed.
The fastest and easiest way to pay, is by our secure online service for credit cards, which is via Worldpay (subsidiary of The Royal Bank of Scotland Group – 5th biggest banking group in the world). Worldpay is used by millions of people worldwide as a secure and trusted way to pay online. Rent Property Direct doesn’t keep any records of your credit card details.

What happens to the information I give you?
We have a very strict privacy policy. All information provided is for Rent Property Direct Ltd’s use only e.g. contacting advertisers for billing or advertisement related reasons, newsletters for advertisers and subscribers etc. We do not sell or share personal information to other companies or individuals.

How do I send photos?
Upload. You can upload your photos directly onto your advertisement by following these instructions ………
By email. In order to show your property at its best, please send high resolution, unaltered photos that have been downloaded direct from your digital camera in JPG / JPEG format
Email to: admin@rentpropertydirect.com
By post. Please send good quality original photographs and we will scan them onto your advertisement. Please remember to place the photographs with some added protection in a strong envelope. To help us know which advertisement the photos are for, please enclose a note with your name, address and property reference number.
If you prefer, you can also send us your photos in a JPG / JPEG electronic format by post on a floppy disc or CD.
If you want us to return the photos, please send us a note, and an addressed, stamped envelope. Normally we keep them in case we need to rescan them in the future.

Can I advertise without photos?
Sorry, since photographs are such an essential part of a successful advertisement, we only accept properties with photos. It is in your interest to have photos to help sell your property and increase your rental income. Also people visiting the site expect to see photos and will not waste time on advertisements without them.

How do I manage my advertisement and make changes?
Once you have registered and your advertisement is live on Rent Property Direct, it is easy to update the property’s information as often as you like. Simply login on the owner’s login page and from the advertisers administration page you can make the changes. Once you have saved changes, you need to click on the "submit for approval" link at the bottom of the Contact information page. It is highly advisable to regularly update your availability table and generally make sure all the information such as pricing and facilities are up to date. This means that the potential tenant will have better information and therefore saves you time from unnecessary enquiries.

Dealing with enquiries?
Advertisers will receive enquiries by telephone, email or fax depending on what contact details are given in the advertisement. It is essential that Advertisers respond rapidly to any enquiries. Potential tenants generally prefer to make enquiries by email. Remember that they have probably made several enquiries to other Advertisers and if you reply days or weeks later, it will probably be too late and therefore a lost potential rent. Also some owners like to talk to prospective tenants before taking a booking.

How do I get my property to the top of the search page on Rent Property Direct?
When your advertisement initially goes live it will be at or near the top. Thereafter, those who update their availability regularly will be at or near the top.

How long does it take for my advertisement to go live?
Once we have received your photographs and all the required information, such as the availability calendar, and payment normally not more than 48 hours and often a lot quicker, depending on how many new advertisements are being requested. All advertisements are checked and approved before they are published.

Can I advertise multi-unit properties?
Yes. Each unit would have its own advertisement. Some websites place 3 or 4 units on the same advertisement, but we find this clutters the advertisement and can cause some confusion with potential tenants.

Yes, there is no limit to the number of properties you can advertise.

I cannot register or log on?
This could be for several reasons. Firstly maybe you are using an old version of your Internet browser (Netscape or Microsoft Explorer). Upgrades are usually available free of charge from Microsoft (www.microsoft.com) and Netscape (www.netscape.com). You need version 5 upwards for our site.
Secondly it could be that you have set your computer not to accept cookies. To change this setting on your internet browser click on Tools, Internet Options, then click on the Privacy tab. Then click on the "site" button and where it says "Address of website" type in www.rentpropertydirect.com and click on "Allow". This will let your internet browser accept our site. In order for these changes to come into effect you need to close and reopen your computer.

We offer our advertisers a personal URL (rentpropertydirect.com/0000), so they can give it to friends and contacts, or place it in any advertising they do and bring traffic directly to their property.
