Description inside property: The spacious and quiet twenty-two foot living room area has a large designer sofa and armchair.
A single bed on a raised area in Moroccan style, which can be used for a third guest if necessary, although the apartment is ideally suited for two people.
The white thermo-underlayed carpet and five electric radiators makes it very cosy in winter, and yet cool in summer thanks to the thick medieval walls. The kitchen windowsill is seven feet thick!
The designer bathroom / shower module has a heated towel system and is warm in the winter with it’s own radiator.
Mobile phone signals within are usually very good.
Description outside property: The Castilly apartment is located inside medieval Bayeux. Quiet and peaceful and yet only minutes’ away are Parisian style boutiques, restaurants and an open food market on Saturdays. Fine sandy beaches are only a few kilometres away.
For a romantic holiday, Castilly - officially known as ‘the most beautiful address in Bayeux’ - is ideal.
The front majestic gated courtyard has conical shrubs and a 17th century atmosphere, with the surrounding buildings also dating from this period. A Bayeux chapel shares one wall of the Castilly manor.
A seventy foot wide, walled rear garden with tall trees (communal but rarely used) is just outside the apartment door Two deckchairs and small table provided.
Street parking outside the manor and around the nearby Place de Gaulle is free. At times, a private garage within the manor can be made available. Please ask.

Description of local area and activities: There are many offers for recreation & leisure in the area: trails for hiking or biking, magnificent floral gardens, visiting the local museums & the Bayeux tapestry. The magnificent gothic cathedral is four minutes from the manor. For your personal fitness, enjoy the nearby tennis court or horse riding, play the International Golf course near Port en Bessin or have fun with sailing.
The Luc sur Mer Thallasotherapy Spa with authentic Moroccan Hamman & swimming pool is wonderful for renewing yourself. Other highlights for visiting: the artists coastal town of Honfleur, Deauville with international film festivals, the Mont Saint Michel and Le Havre a twice post-modern city and Unesco World Heritage Site.
The annual free Bayeux Medieval Festival is 5-6 JULY 2008.
And the annual Bayeux Festival Les Voix de L’Aure Festival August 2008 welcomes an eclectic mixture of choirs, concerts, poets and public speakers from all over France, with concerts held every night. A wide programme encompasses songs, cabaret, jazz, baroque music and pocket opera.

Notes: Book with apt owner. Half payable upon booking, balance payable 8 weeks before stay. Preferred payment method: bank to bank transfer. A security deposit of £150 (UK cheque is fine) is required to be given to the key handler, Mme Lepage, on arrival. Upon inspection after your stay the cheque is safely destroyed. All linen, towels and utilities are included in the price.
Changeover day is flexible, although Mme Lepage asks that guests arrive no later than 7:00pm.

A cleaning fee of €45 euros is to be left on the table the day of departure, for the whole apt and laundry to be cleaned, regardless of whether you clean it yourself.
