| Description of local area and activities: The cottage address is “Le Bourg” in French this means the centre of a village! Guiler Sur Goyen is a small farming village typical of the unspoilt Bretagne way of life! The cottage is situated to the left of the church in the main square. We are surrounded by countryside that rolls down to the coast giving miles of sandy beaches! Guiler itself is a very quiet village we have one bar tabac, selling cigarettes, tobacco, wine and beer, there is a boulangerie selling fresh French bread, milk and general groceries. A short drive takes you to the small town of Plozevet this has a few bars, restaurants, banks, the post office a small selection of shops and the local super market. Driving a little further brings you to Plouhnic; this hosts a larger super market, a D.I.Y. store, chemist, cloths store and Euro tyres. Staying on the main road through Plouhnic you will arrive at Audierne, this is a picturesque working fishing harbour, hosting both fishing and privately owned boats, sight seeing can be booked from the harbour! There are plenty are bars and restaurants for you to choose from plus banks and a post office. A market takes place here every Saturday. There is also a sea life centre just off the river Goyen. Driving up the coast in the other direction, you will find the harbour town of Concarneau. This is a ‘walled town’, with a very pretty harbour. Within the old town, the streets are lined with shops and restaurants, there are two markets each week (Wednesday and Friday) these are well worth a visit to see French life at its best. A little further on is the artist town of Pont Aven! With shop after shop full of locally produced art work (stop and have your portrait done they are great) A 35 minute drive from Guiler will take you to the city of Quimper, a lovely city divided by a river running through its centre. A visit to its magnificent cathedral is well advised, and once again the cobbled streets are lined with bars and restaurants a whole day can be spent exploring this wonderful city. |

| Notes: The Bretagne way of life is France at its best, good food and wine; the French people always offer a warm welcome to all. Its green country side and rugged coast line make this a beautiful place to stay and explore Come and try the local sea food washed down with a locally produced wine then relax in the warm sunshine in one of its harbour towns or sandy beeches. All in all this is a great place to come and spend your holiday no matter what kind of holiday you enjoy you will always find something for your enjoyment. |
