Description inside property: At Faysselle, we have three beautiful gites for rent, set in 12 acres of idyllic countryside in the Lot et Garonne, South West France
Spend your days exploring our wonderful scenery, historic villages, bustling French markets, or participating in the water sports or adventure activities.
Then come home to the peaceful haven that is Faysselle, to relax by the picturesque pool, and sip wine under the breathtakingly starry sky.
Faysselle is set in 12 acres of idyllic countryside surrounded by the gardens, woodland and fields, on the side of a sunny valley. Our three gites (sleeping 4, 6 and 6) have all been lovingly restored to create a welcoming environment for your relaxing holiday.
The main attraction at Faysselle is the 10.5m x 5.5m swimming pool. Alongside is a mini-pool which is ideal for small children, and a waterfall flows from the mini-pool into the main pool. In addition, there are snooker, darts, pool games, petanque and swings to keep all members of the family occupied.
GRAND SOLEIL – Sleeps 6
This gite was converted from a former barn and completed in 2001. It is situated next to the swimming pool – ideal for parents who want to keep an eye on the children swimming!
Downstairs is the sunny well-equipped kitchen with large fridge/freezer. cooker, microwave and washing machine, a shower/wc, and the large living/dining room with a large dining table, two sofas and two armchairs. A door leads onto the large sunny terrace at the end of the house, complete with barbecue. Satellite TV with dvd, and a variety of family games.
Upstairs are three bedrooms ( one double, one twin and one triple). The double room has French windows (protected) with a view towards an 11th century church. There is also a further bath/shower room/wc.
We guarantee you will receive a warm welcome at Faysselle. Many of our guests return time and again and one couple loved it so much they asked if we could organise their wedding here! We have lived here for eight years and like to feel that are visitors return not as 'guests' but as 'friends'
Why not start your holiday in relaxing mode? Join us on our balcony, with beautiful views down the valley, for dinner on your first night. Meet new friends over a few glasses of wine and home-cooked local cuisine, and chill out!
Description outside property: There are 12 acres of garden, woodland and meadow in which the guests are welcome to roam. In early summer, the field is a mass of wild flowers, including several varieties of orchids. For nature lovers this is paradise. Deer are occasionally seen around the property and even the odd wild boar! For bird lovers, watch out for golden oriole and hoopoe, and buzzards and kites soaring overhead. A spectaular sight in spring/autumn is to see the cranes in their hundreds making their way between their summer and winter grounds.

Description of local area and activities: Golf and horse riding are close by, and there are several leisure lakes with 'beaches'. This is a wonderful area for walking and nature-lovers. For children there is the Parc Walibi theme park in Agen, an adventure park with aerial walkways set in woodland close to Fumel and a small water park near Valence d'Agen. There are numerous water sports on the Lot and Dordogne rivers or if you would rather watch than participate there are boats for hire in Villeneuve-sur-Lot and Moissac, or canal/river trips from Agen or Nerac. There is even a go-kart track near Agen!
Day trips out can include the wonderful scenery of the Lot and Dordogne valleys, Cahors and St Cirq Lapopie, and the larger cities of Toulouse and Bordeaux. The Airbus factory in Toulouse offers tours in English, and there is also a space museum there.
We are close to the wine growing areas of Buzet, Duras and Cahors, and for food lovers this area is a must! Magret and confit of duck, foie gras, melons, plums and soft fruit are all produced locally. Agen is famous for its prunes, and if your only memory of prunes is from school dinners, wait until you try prunes in Armagnac. You will never think of them in the same way again! The region was featured in BBC2's 'Rick Stein's French Odyssey'
Restaurants vary from basic regional cooking to haute cuisine, and prices from 10 euros for a three course lunch to the somewhat more expensive (!) 3 star restaurant in nearby Puymirol.
