Additional Information

Description of local area and activities: Kerhotten is situated right in the heart of rural Brittany, a 300 year old commune of 4 superb individual detached cottages at the end of a leafy country lane. With no passing traffic, nestling in 3 acres of land on the edge of the picturesque LAC DU DORDU. The cottages share the 30`x 20`solar heated swimming pool, with surrounding patio and sun loungers. There is also the added attraction of an original Breton Bread Oven. The gardens are well stocked and attractive. The extensive grounds afford the opportunity for quiet relaxation and contemplation (there is a separate playing field for those boisterous ball games). Guests can enjoy a quiet game of boules; explore the surrounding countryside on our cycles or on foot.

Each cottage has a private garden including garden furniture, parasol and BBQ. The cottages share the heated outdoor swimming pool. The lake is accessible directly from our grounds and includes small beach, lakeside bar and children’s play area and assault course. The lake has some large common carp, large Pike, tench perch and last season even some wild trout so why not try your luck at fishing
Brittany is the western most region of France it juts into the Atlantic like a giant peninsula, surrounded by 750 miles of dramatic coastline. Hundreds of bays, inlets, and islands shelter the fishing boats that have sustained Bretons for millennia.
The earliest people of Brittany erected dolmens and menhirs dating back to 3500 BC.

With so many coastlines, many leisure activities are focused on the water: sailing, surfing, canoeing, rowing, and sand yachting. For history fans, there are megaliths, château, museums, and medieval towns, while food lovers will enjoy Breton cuisine, known for its legendary seafood, artichokes, lamb, and crêpes.

We are centrally located about 40mins to the west and north coasts, there un spoilt sandy beaches, and various attractions. Choices of beautiful south coast beaches are 40 mins away Quimper, & Concareau are of just two

Dinard & St Malo are well worth a visit, on the north coast of Brittany

From our base at the very heart of Brittany there are historic towns such as Vannes, Auray, Quimper, Josselin, & Benodet

Horse riding is less than 10 mins away and a superb 9 hole golf course about 25 mins away.

The atmospheric forest of Heulgoat (part of the Arthurian legend) the medieval forest of Merlin the Magician, where the Knights of the Round Table searched for the Holy Grail can be found 45 mins to the north.
Just 15 minutes away is the Lac de Guerledan, which has leisure activities for every member of the family. Its rustic landscape and forest is a haven for walkers, ramblers, mountain bikers and horse-riders. Whilst it’s all year round water sports centre includes dinghies, rowing-boats, pedaloes and water-skiing boat cruises and good restaurants and is well worth the visit. Sandy beaches and out-door cafes enable the less active to enjoy the view without expending too much energy.

Less than one hour away an unforgettable experience awaits you in the Gulf of Morbihan, on the southern shore. Dotted with dozens of tiny islands, this beautiful bay shelters the Ile aux Moines, where you can ride a bicycle through palm groves, mimosa, and fairy-tale woods.

Nantes - Brest Canal and the valley of the River Blavet are all close by for great cycling or walks

There are numerous activities for children and adults within an hours drive, Zoo’s, quad biking, amusement parks, etc,
