Description inside property: INTRODUCTION
La Metairie du Vignaud is a 18th Century Perigourdine farm house situated on a private woodland estate (a Domaine Forestier). The property has been sympathetically restored to provide comfortable accommodation whilst still retaining all the character, charm and quirkiness of a period property. There are three double bedrooms, one with an extra single bed, plus three more single beds on the mezzanine. In addition to the main house there is a pool house with a further double bedroom.

Accommodates 12 persons maximum.

Choose ANY DAY ARRIVAL / DEPARTURE (except during peak season) - short breaks available

*Under Occupancy discounts available for 6 or less persons.

INSIDE THE PROPERTY
The accommodation is on different levels, entering from the small private terrace there is a breakfast room which has an intact original example of a bread oven, table and chairs. Off the breakfast room is the galley, fitted modern kitchen, with oven, microwave, dishwasher and large American fridge. Through an arched passage is the utility room with washing machine and dryer.

From the breakfast room a doorway leads through into the large dinning room with solid wood table and chairs and large stone fireplace, which has the date, 1819, carved into one corner. A further doorway leads on to a hallway to the mezzanine over the lounge, with a double bedroom off the mezzanine. Stairs lead down in to the lounge with television (satellite with international channels), hifi music player and comfortable seating. From the opposite corner of the lounge a few steps give on to the large family bathroom and wc and a further hallway leading past the boiler room to two more double bedrooms.

Completely separate from the main property is the pool house next to the 12 x 6 meter pool. Here there is a large dinning area with cooker, fridge and sink (Cusine d'Ete), summer kitchen. Inside the pool house is a shower room, wc and double bedroom with view onto the pool and poolside terrace.

Description of local area and activities: THE AREA
The location is an excellent point from which to set out and explore all that the Dordogne has to offer. You may choose to take the 'route des vins' around Bergerac or visit St Emilion, the region is world famous for it's wine, which you can sample and perhaps take home with you.

The area is full of history and pre-history, from chateaux to caves and cave dwellings, plus wonderful medieval stone villages. Enjoy just strolling around the villages or for the more energetic try canoeing. The pace of life is slow and calm and the climate is very agreeable.
