Description inside property: La Vieille Laiterie is one of our three luxury gites.
This gite features exposed stone walls and opens out onto a private patio area with garden furniture and BBQ.
Downstairs the gite comprises of a large, light and airy open plan room. It has a fully fitted and equipped kitchen, dining area featuring solid oak furniture and a very comfortable lounge area equipped with satellite TV, DVD and HiFi looking out over the garden, swimming pool and into the countryside beyond.
The kitchen area is equipped with fridge/freezer, full sized gas cooker, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and many other electrical appliances. The kitchen is generously stocked with crockery, cutlery, glasses, pots & pans and many other kitchen items.
La Vieille Laiterie has a family bedroom with a separate luxury bathroom. Upstairs is full of original features and charm provided by original roof beams, exposed stonework and chesnut flooring.
The bedroom is furnished and decorated to the highest standard with solid oak furniture and high quality soft furnishings. It has a double bed and a set of bunk beds*.
The beautiful bathroom has a double ended bath, a large corner shower, twin handbasins and WC.
In addition to the bedroom, the lounge area also has a comfortable double sofabed.*
*This gîte accommodates and is equipped for up to a maximum of four guests by using either the bunk beds or the sofabed in addition to the double bed.
The bunk beds are only suitable for children.
La Vieille Fromagerie luxury gite complex is set in 3.5 acres of tranquil grounds in the heart of sunny rural France. The gites share a 10 x 5m fenced and alarmed swimming pool with sunloungers and parasols as well as a children's play area. Guests are invited to use the grounds for other games and activities.
The gites have been recently converted from the old dairy where goats cheese was produced until the late 1960s. The local area still produces many varieties of goats cheese with several to be found in the local markets.
The excellent attractions at Futuroscope and La Vallee des Singes (primate sanctuary) are nearby and we also have Poitiers with its 100 churches, Cognac with its distilleries and the beautiful cities of Angouleme & Limoges and the beaches of the Atlantic coast all within easy reach.
Other activities in the local area include pony/horse riding, canoeing/kayaking, go-karts/quad bikes, golf, fishing and many others - more than you could possibly fit into one holiday!

This region of the Vienne is an area of lower rainfall than is usual in the UK.
The warmer climate produces a variety of flora, fauna and birds of the region.
While you will see many of the same birds found in many rural areas of Britain, you will certainly also find others never, or rarely, seen there.
Regularly seen at different times of the year are;
