The floor is easily maintained ceramic tiling. French windows open onto a small external seating area and then further into the garden. The house is well insulated but also has full central heating. A spiral staircase leads up to the first and second floor bedrooms and bathroom.
Three bedrooms and a bathroom are spread over the two top floors, with access from a spiral staircase. The staircase has been fitted with handrails and toddler-safe banister rails. All beds have full size sprung mattresses and are equipped with pillows and duvets (winter and summer weight available). bedlinen and towels can be supplied if requested.

Bedroom 2: This room has full sized bunk beds, a large wardrobe and drawer space. It also has an insect-proof window screen.
Bedroom 3: This is on the second floor, with access by a further spiral stair. It is a very large room with exposed beams and carpet tiles. It has twin beds and a single sofa bed with a pullout bunk underneath, so is ideal for children or to use as a family room. There is also a TV and a selection of jigsaws and games.

The kitchen has a gas hob and electric oven, microwave and dishwasher, with plenty of work surface and storage cupboards. Other facilities include coffee maker, iron and electric mixer. Cooking utensils, crockery and table linen are all provided. The large fridge freezer means shopping trips can be kept to a minimum. The dining area seats 8.
Description outside property: The gite is part of a complex that includes the owner's house, barns, fields and gardens. There is a private lawned area with barbeque and furniture for holiday makers. Children (and adults for that matter) are welcome to help feed and groom the three Shetland ponies who graze below the house. A large drive offers ample car parking or is ideal for a game of boules (set provided).
The idyllic position in the heart of the countryside, and a hilltop location gives star gazing a new meaning. During your visit you might see deer, badgers, and all manner of birds of prey, as well as the red squirrels that feast on the berries and nuts in the garden. As well as the ponies, those with allergies need to know that my cats are often outside in the gardens, though not allowed in the gite. Your own well trained pet is very welcome.

| Description of local area and activities: It is an ideal spot for both activity holidays or historical tours, or just for chilling out by the river with a drink. You can hire a kayak, canoe or pedalo, and depending on your experience, enjoy calm water or 20km of rapids and weirs. Well marked trails for walkers and cyclists start 50 yards from the house, and horse riding centres offer trekking by the hour or the day. The cliffs above the river are used for rock climbing, abseiling and hang gliding. Ancient sites include Roman villas and beautiful chateaux, and William the Conqueror is much in evidence, through his birthplace at Falaise castle and his chateau in Caen. The D-Day landing beaches and associated museums are a must for those interested in recent history. Interesting local markets sell an amazing selection - from livestock and seafood to the Normandy specialties - everything with apples or cheese. |

|
| Notes: There are many golf courses in the area - Clecy is the closest, a 9 hole course, and there are other courses at Falaise, Bagnoles de l'Orne and Caen. |
