Description of facilities: bright and sunny town house. Walk way from house to the troglodytes cliffs of Saumur.

Description inside property: Le Fenêt was built 200 years ago of traditional tuffeau stone and was refurbished in 2004 and fully redecorated in 2008. There is a private terrace with a BBQ, table, chairs, sun loungers and a parasol. A ground floor utility room incorporates a washing machine which both Townhouses can use and each has its own separate garage if required. Central heating and linen are included. Le Fenêt sleeps 2 - 5 people.
From the ground floor level there is a wooden staircase (18 steps) leading up to a 1st floor landing with door into the main living room which has a high ceiling (above 3m), original wood flooring throughout and large windows. The sitting room has room for 5 people including a comfy sofa and there is also a combined CD/DVD player and television.
The kitchen is fully equipped with fridge freezer, microwave, gas hob & electric oven, dishwasher, raclette, blender and coffee machine. The kitchen leads onto the private 20m2 sun terrace which benefits from the sun until 4:30 pm being the perfect spot for sun bathing during the day and dining at night.
The elegant dining room seats 6 and also has a sofa bed. We provide board games and books which can be used by all.
There are two bedrooms, one double that overlooks the troglodyte houses and has a latex mattress and allergy free pillows. There is also a single bedroom that overlooks the terrace and features a tuffeau fireplace. There is a fitted bathroom including bath/shower and wc.
Le Fenêt sleeps 2 to 5 people making it ideal for couples, friends and families.

Description of local area and activities: Saumur is a relatively small and intimate town with plenty of winding narrow lanes and an abundance of small shops locally owned with long histories. There are numerous places to eat and drink, many ideal for sitting outside and watching life go by, one of the most reputable restaurants « le pot de lapin » is within 50m of us.

The town offers cultural and traditional sites to visit such as, the saturday local market, Le Cadre Noir and France's elite military equestrian centre reputed the world over. The towns XIV century château is situated within 600m of our gîtes, with both Catholic and Anglican churches within walking distance.There are a wealth of traditional french vinyards many privatly owned who makes a local wine call « champigny ».You can visit also wineries that produces sparkling wine using traditional methods. Finally it is worth mentioning that within Saumur we have the worlds largest tank museum for those who enjoy military history.

Notes: The nearest golf course is only 5 minutes by car.It is set in a beautiful country side just outside Saumur.
