Description inside property:

Le Manoir de Gurson has been fully refurbished to offer modern day comfort, whilst retaining all of its original 19th century French charm.

Our Chambres d'Hotes and Le Manoir offer a peaceful holiday environment, to ensure a relaxing and comfortable stay.

We offer Bed & Breakfast accommodation in a choice of double or twin rooms.
We also offer self catering accommodation in Le Manoir. It is fully equipped with kitchen/lounge and 3 rooms are en-suite, 1 has a luxury bathroom and there is internet access.
For further information, please ask for our website details.

Description outside property:

There are wooden benches near the swimming pool, which convert into tables if required. The suntrap is very popular, and the pool overlooks the lakes and the valley. We have added a jacuzzi feature to the pool, which gives a relaxing massage as well as making waves to the delight of the children (and adults!). There is a barbecue for a family of 4, as well as a very large one which will cater for more than 25.

Description of eco friendly facilities

We are very mindful of the economic climate, so use wood for the chimney, feed left-over food to the chickens, and try to maintain an eco-friendly lifestyle. Our estate is completely free from pesticides, and we have many rare species of flowers and trees. It is a joy to go for a walk in the woods, and to appreciate the sheer beauty of nature. At the right season, it is possible to collect mushrooms, chestnuts, apricots, peaches, cherries, and hazelnuts. We make our own confiture with our findings, and have a good supply of free range eggs.

Additional Information

Description of local area and activities:

Le Manoir de Gurson is situated between the important wine growing regions of Bergerac and St Emilion, and close to beautiful city of Bordeaux. Set in 98 acres of grounds including woodlands and lakes, and very close to the bastide town of Villefranche de Lonchat, Le Manoir is an ideal base for exploring the Dordogne region.

We can organise a free wine tour (at vineyard owner's availability).

Nerby town and the villages provide a "taste of France", and those willing to explore are never disappointed.

For walkers and cyclists there are many beautiful and interesting areas to discover, and for those wanting more of an active holiday, there are many amenities such as canoeing, jetskiing, rafting, paint ball and many more.

Leisure Activities - Golf

Notes: We have a driving range on site, which is in its infancy. The range is 300m+, and there are tyres of varying sizes to aim for. All we wask is that you collect the balls afterwards. We are in the process of developing a 9 hole golf course, which is taking a lot of time (things seem to take longer to achieve in France).
There is 9 hole fun golf course at Naturingues (10 km), and Chateau des Vigiers is 32 km away.

Leisure Activities - Special Interests

Notes: Le Manoir is the ideal place for painters, as the light is so good. Similarly, photographers, amateur and professional, enjoy clicking away, not only here, but in the neighbouring towns and villages, such as St. Émilion. Writers find inspiration in the peace and tranquility. We also offer a free wine tour at a nearby vineyard, which takes about two and a half hours, and is one of the highlights of any holiday (prior booking essential).
