Description inside property: Beautifully and sympathetically restored ancient manoir. It retains much of its charm and many of the furnishings are of a suitable period. The banqueting hall seats 12 or more. It has a small bar and we are able to arrange for keg beer to your order. Both the banqueting hall and the drawing room have woodburning stoves for those chilly evenings and there is central heating for off season visits. There is satilite TV in the drawing room and two bedrooms. The kitchen is fully eqipped and has a range cooker and American style fridge. There is a small private garden with clothes drying space. In addition there is an outdoor eating area with barbecue. Each of the two largest double en suite bedrooms have a sofa bed to provide extra accommodation if required. This is an addition to the 12 persons in the numbers quoted. There is a family suite of double room with its own landing area off which there is a bathroom and a twin bedroom.
Description outside property: Sun loungers are available on the terrace around the shared pool.
Bicycles can be hired locally
Should you take advantage of the sofa beds available extra seating is available in the eating areas
Within the grounds there is a boules court, trampoline, table tennis and informal tennis and badminton. There is also a large playing field and children's play area.
The swimming pool has a small baby's splash area and children's slide.

| Description of local area and activities: Situated in the heart of beautiful central Brittany the Manoir de Kerdeven is close to the Nantes/Brest canal which has been the subject of renovation over recent years. It was originally built by local prisoners at the instigation of Napoleon Bonapart as a means of transporting food and supplies to his troops without running the gauntlet of the British Fleet. The canal and its' towpath is used variously for fishing, walking, cycling, horse riding and canoeing (there are shutes to the side of the locks). Canoes and cycles can be hired locally. There is an off road mountain bike trail at nearby Plouguernevel. The Lac de Guerledan has 2 beaches and a good range of water sports: The ancient Abbaye de Bon Repos has ongoing renovations and provides a wonderful base for exploring local history: It also hosts the spectacular Son et Lumiere each summer. There are local markets, traditional styled restaurants, including many that offer exceptional value for money - ask us for information. Whilst we are near enough to provide help with restaurant reservations and doctor's appointments etc we are far enough away for your comfort. |
