Description of facilities: This beautiful area of Spain, much loved by the Spanish, and only 20 minutes by motorway from Murcia (San Javier) Airport and just over an hour from Alicante, is being discovered as a “get away from it all” location. Playa Paraiso, whilst a paradise for safe swimming and sun worshippers is located just adjacent to Calblanque National Park which has been a protected natural area since 1987 and nature reserve since 1992. Calblanque is an amalgamation of wonderful sandy beaches, sandbanks, arid hills, cliff tops and salt flats all of great ecological value. If you are in need of less seclusion then the historic cities of Cartagena and Murcia are within easy driving distance of the house. The pretty fishing port of Cabo de Palos is just 5 minutes away with its bars, restaurants and large outdoor Sunday market.
Description inside property: Superb townhouse on a development of new houses just a few minutes walk from the crystalline waters of the Mar Menor, ideal for swimming and water sports. There is an unbroken view in front of the house directly to the palm trees and beaches of the Mar Menor, whilst at night you can enjoy the twinkling lights of the La Manga strip. The house is set in a very quiet area amongst beautiful green fields and adjacent to the salt lakes (salinas) where many migratory birds can be seen. Playa Paraiso offers easy access to shops, banks and many restaurants. There is a large terrace in front of the house complete with table and chairs where dining 'al fresco' in the shade of the house becomes standard practice. Internally there are three bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a fully equipped kitchen. The sitting room/dining area is spacious, but with the excellent sunshine record of the Mar Menor little time is spent inside! The property is air-conditioned and overhead fans are provided in all rooms.
Description outside property: The well known La Manga Club and its wide range of excellent sports facilities is just 15 minutes away. There are a number of bars and restaurants and you can enjoy live music and dance at Spikes at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. If you dare to venture down the La Manga strip to the Zoco area you will find loud music and dancing till the early hours of the morning. Be warned!
The area around the Mar Menor, Lo Pagan in the north and the mouth of the river east of Playa Paraiso are areas that you will find people enjoying the beneficial effects that mud from this area will give, especially to sufferers of rheumatic conditions. The therapeutic qualities of mud and clay have been acknowledged since early mankind. The Chinese used them for centuries making poultices to heal inflammations. The climate of the Mar Menor, the long hours of sunlight and high level of salt in the water have created a mud known for its therapeutic value.

The gentle waters of the Mar Menor are the ideal place to learn and enjoy doing all kinds of water sports. The beaches on La Manga are given over to wind surfing and sailboat schools that rent out boats.

| Notes: The well known La Manga Club, just five minutes drive away from Playa Paraiso has always been synonymous with golf and, with its three championship courses and outstanding practice facilities, it is perhaps hardly surprising that it has been voted Europe's top golf resort three times in the past four years. The resort has also recently been chosen as the official winter training base of the German PGA in Spain. With the new motorway connections there are a number of other up and coming golf courses that are now easily accessible from Playa Paraiso. |
