Description of facilities: At the reception there is a library of books and magazines in English and other languages free for guests to borrow. Also there are computers with internet and telephones and fax machines. On site there is also a laundry room with washing machine and clothes dryer as well as hairdresser, corner shop, gym and tennis courts. Many evening activities are held in the restaurants and bars such as quizzes and karaoke.
Description inside property: The villa has two double/twin bedrooms, a double sofa bed and pull out extra bed located under the sofa and is the perfect size for a family. It is whitewashed throughout and decorated in a typical Spanish style. It has a brand-new fully fitted kitchen with microwave and newly fitted bathroom and patio. There is also satellite TV.We have found that air-conditioning is not needed in the villa (moreover it is especially environmentally unfriendly) but there are fans provided. The villa, being on the coast, tends to get a lovely breeze throughout the day.The villa is ground floor with front and back garden. There is a lot of room for children to play and for adults to sunbathe.
Description outside property: Villacana was one of the first resorts to be built on the Costa del Sol and is a secure whitewashed Spanish pueblo-style village surrounded by tropical gardens and set right on the beach. Around the villa are a number of pools for all ages including a main pool area suitable for babies and non-swimming children. The beach is perfect for sunbathing, swimming in the Mediterranean Sea, snorkelling and there are even opportunities to rent a jet ski or try para-kiting. The coast is south facing so there is sun all day long. In the summer that means until 10pm! You can walk all along the coast and on a clear day can see the Rock of Gibraltar and even North Africa across the Mediterranean.

Description of local area and activities: There are direct local buses from outside the resort to nearby villages/towns (Estepona – a lovely market town and port (10 mins), Puerto Banús – famous for its glitzy nightlife and where you will find anchored some of the most famous yachts of the rich and famous (20 mins), Marbella – museums, shopping (25mins)). Taxis can be book from reception. Furthermore, organised bus/jeep tours are also available from reception to Gibraltar, Morocco, Granada, Sevilla and many other places as well as days/nights out – Andalucian horse show, flamenco show, water parks etc. Another enjoyable activity is visiting the Sierra de las Nieves, a beautiful mountainous national park area full of animals. This part of Spain is a lovely area to visit all year long as the region is still very traditional and the villages celebrate their fiestas throughout the year. During the summer there are the Ferias – which are celebrations held in each and every village, town and city between late June and September. These are lots of fun to attend as there is music, traditional food, flamenco dancing, celebrations and parades down the streets. Of course there are Christmas, New Year, King’s day (Jan 6) and Easter to enjoy - and they are celebrated in a typically Spanish way.
