Description of facilities: Do you have a special occasion to celebrate while on holiday with us, or have you booked one of our breaks as a surprise for someone you love?
Would you like a bouquet of flowers delivered to your Gite, or maybe have a wonderful cake made by our local Patisserie (they are delicious)?
We could put a bottle of chilled Champagne and locally produced chocolates in your room for when you arrive.
If you would like to eat out, then we can book a restaurant for you. Depending on numbers we could chauffeur you there and back.
Perhaps you would like something more intimate. On your special day we could provide a 3 course meal with wine (menu to be discussed) and serve it to you in the privacy of your own Gite.
We know how hard it can be arranging something special when you are away from home and keeping it a secret, so whatever your occasion just tell us your ideas and we will try our very best to fulfil them.
Costing will depend on your requirements.
Description inside property: Owl Barn is located at Glomel and the Lac de Corong, in the beautiful, open, countryside of Central Brittany and close to the ancient town of Rostrenen. The 200 year old Breton Gite, of granite and slate, has been lovingly restored to the highest possible specifications and provides luxurious accommodation for your holiday in rural France.
Owl barn sleeps four people in two very comfortable en-suite bedrooms and is heated throughout.
The lounge has exposed beams, white washed stone walls and has a tiled floor.
There are two comfortable sofas on which you can relax in front of the wood burning stove, which is set into a stone fireplace with a beautiful natural slate hearth. The luxury feel is completed with some pieces of reclaimed wooden furniture. We provide a TV with English channels, DVD and HI FI for your enjoyment and there are superb views over the garden and surrounding countryside.
The dining area also has these lovely views and has exposed wooden beams, white washed stone walls and fully tiled floor. For interior dining there is a beautiful dark oak table with leather upholstered dining chairs.
The kitchen has quality fitted oak units with plenty of cupboard space. We provide all the crockery, cutlery, glasses, pots and pans you will require to make this your home from home. There is a gas five burner range cooker, fridge, dishwasher, microwave and washing machine. We supply an iron and ironing board for your use. There are plenty of work surfaces and the floor is fully tiled.
There is an open staircase that takes you to the 1st floor landing which offers lovely views across the fields through 2 velux windows.
The double bedroom has a Dorma window that looks out over the open countryside and consists of a King size bed with luxurious bed linen, satin throws and pillows. There is a double wardrobe and a cloakroom area with coat-hooks, shelf, shoe rack and room for cases etc. Off the bedroom is your own en-suite shower room, which has a toilet, free standing sink and a walk-in fully tiled shower area. All colour co-ordinated to match your bedroom. The bedroom has a stone white washed wall, exposed A frames and lovely stained wooden floors.
The Twin Bedroom also has a Dorma window looking out over the countryside. The Twin beds have luxurious bedding and throws. Its en-suite shower room is again colour co-ordinated to match the bedroom and consists of a walk-in fully tiled shower area, toilet and free standing sink. This room also has a double wardrobe and cloakroom area. There are exposed A frames and stained wooden floors throughout.
Outside is your own raised L-shaped decked area that gives you lovely views over the surrounding countryside. Here you can relax, sunbathe and enjoy a meal. We provide a table, chairs and parasol and there are two sun beds for your use. Three steps lead down to a gravelled area where your BBQ is situated.
A gated driveway leads to a private parking area and a newly planted orchard will provide a shaded sitting area.

Description of local area and activities: The village of Glomel has a boulongere, pharmacy, bar, convenience store, Italian pizza restaurant and an Auberge that serves lunch time meals. Also a post office and a hairdresser.Glomel also boasts it has the largest Menhir in the Cotes d’Armor. 3km away is our large Inter- marche supermarket where you can get all your fresh fish and meat and of course wine and beer.
The Lac de Corong is a short walk away and has a beach area where you can swim, walk, hire canoes, go fishing, or just enjoy the breath-taking scenery.
The beautiful Nantes a Brest Canal is about 2km away and here you can walk, cycle, canoe, or fish.
Rostrenen is a lovely little market town about 3km away and has shops, restaurants and holds a market every Tuesday, where you can buy fresh fish, meat, fruit and vegetables and other locally produced items.
So whether you want a relaxing holiday or you wish to take advantage of the many activities on our doorstep, such as cycling, walking, fishing or canoeing, to mention a few; Owl Barn offers all this and more.
