Description inside property: Facing west onto a courtyard the cottage was completely re-plumbed and re-wired in 2002. Since then it is completely re-decorated every other year and an extension (into one of the barns has added a stunning master bedroom with views of the river, vaulted ceiling and en-suite shower room. Downstairs is a open plan kitchen, dining area, lounge area. There is a large open fire and character furniture in the lounge and dining area. The kitchen area is modern with plenty of cupboard space, fridge and separate small freezer, electric oven, gas hob, microwave, etc, The open plan stairs (with stair gates) lead to an upper mezzanine and the 3 bedrooms and 2 bath/shower rooms with toilets. The main bathroom has a full size bath and walk-in shower. There is plenty of hanging space and storage for clothes.

Description of eco friendly facilities: Almost all waste is recycled (seperate bins for the guests in one of the barns to make it easy) and only rain water is used for the garden. Bicycles are provided so that fetching fresh bread and croissants from the village does not need a car. Overall care is taken to balance the period feel and look of the property as well as the comfort of the guests with eco-possibilities.

| Description of local area and activities: Situated on a long distance combined cycle/walking track (Rennes to the Atlantic Ocean) it is a perfect place to leave the car behind and enjoy the tranquility of the unspoilt countryside. Fishing is just outside the front gate and horse riding and trekking can be arranged in the village. Kyaking along the river past chateaux is available 15 mins away. Markets, pituresque towns and villages abound in the area as well as historical sites such as St Just standing stones (approx. 15 mins drive). Sailing and wind surfing is available at the local lakes (20 mins) and golf (2 courses within 30 mins). The cities of Rennes and Nantes are 45 mins away and there are also local chateaux. |
