Description inside property: Your holiday will be spent in a charming traditional breton cottage in a courtyard setting on a 50 acre private estate, which has direct frontage onto the Canal de Nantes a Brest. The accommodation comprises a large salle de sejour (living area) downstairs. The lounge area has an inglenook fireplace with woodburner for those cosy winter evenings. Exposed original chestnut beams throughout. The kitchen has all the usual modern facilities including electric cooker and microwave. The large dining table is hand made from oak harvested on the estate.
Upstairs there is a modern salle de bain with shower, toilet and handbasin. There are two bedrooms, one double and one twin. Each with exposed beams and stone gable wall to give your holiday that traditional cottage feel.
Washing machine, tumble drier and freezer also provided.
Private garden with BBQ and garden furniture.

Description of local area and activities: You will have freedom to wander throughout the estate. Explore the nature trails. Picnic tables provided to enjoy the atmosphere. Relax and enjoy tranquillity in unspoilt countryside. Roam down the track to the fields, through the oak glade and then return along the canal to your holiday cottage. Listen to the birdsong, especially prolific in spring. Enjoy the long summer evenings or, if your visit is in autumn, the area bounds with interesting fungi.
Rambling for the enthusiast or gentle strolls along the canal towpath. Also birdwatching, fishing and cycling. Watersports and horse riding nearby.
Stable Cottage, Magourou is situated just 3 kilometres from the market town of Rostrenen which is known as the crossroads of Brittany, due to it's central position. It therefore forms an ideal touring base to discover one of France's most distinctive and attractive regions. Rostrenen is a well serviced town with 3 supermarkets and several restaurants/creperies/pizzeria s to suit all tastes and pockets. |
