Description inside property: Sunflower cottage has been fullly renovated and provides spacious and comfortable accommodation. One of the double bedrooms is on the ground floor with an en suite bathroom and separate shower. It is suitable for those with reduced mobility. The kitchen is fully equipped including full size cooker, washing machine and dishwasher. There is heating for off season visits and a fireplace for those chilly evenings. There is satelite TV in the lounge. There is a small private garden with an outdoors eatng area and barbecue. Cots and high chairs are available on request. More than one if needed. The dining area has a farmhouse style table with seating for 10 and room for a high chair, also available on request.
Description outside property: There is a small private garden and further access to the extensive grounds of Le Manoir de Kerdeven. Your private garden provides an outdoor eating area, barbecue and a discretly placed rotary clothes line. Situated within the grounds of the Manoir there is a large heated swimming pool, boules court, table tennis fqcilities, informal tennis and badminton, trampoline and large playing field. There is sufficient parking for 3 or 4 cars. The swimming pool has a small baby's splash area and slide for older children.

| Description of local area and activities: Oak Cottage is close to the Nantes/Brest canal. A large proportion of this has recently renovated and, with its towpath, now provides good cycling, fishing, walking, canoeing (with shutes to the side of the locks) and horse riding. It has an interesting history having been originally constructed by local prisoners on the instruction of Bonapart as a means of transporting supplies to his troops whilst avoiding the blockade of the British Fleet. The Lac de Guerledan has two beaches and a good range of water sports. There are also boat trips around its' perameter. The Lac itself is around the size of Windermere. Cycles can be hired locally and there is a mountain bike trail at nearby Plouguernevel. The ancient Abbaye de Bon Repos has been the subject of recent and extensive renovation and provides a good insight to the history of the Area. It is also the site of a spectacular Son et Lumiere each summer. There are other interestng museums and gardens open to the public nearby. Indoor tennis can be booked for you in nearby Rostrenen. There are many local markets and sensibly priced restaurants. The owners are at a sufficient distance for your comfort, but close enough to make reservations for you, or doctor's appointments when needed. |
