Description of eco friendly facilities: We use low energy lighting inside & out, a low energy cycle for the washing machine & dry our laundry naturally. No pesticides are used in the garden & we compost our waste & garden matter. We use natural products when possible for cleaning, ie vinegar. Plastics, metal, paper & glass are all recycled either by re-using or in the community bins.

Description of local area and activities: We are less than 1/2 hour's drive from Lago Trasimeno where there are many water sports, plus a bird sanctuary for watching the migratory birds.
Our area is ideal for walking, trekking & climbing low mountains, to suits all levels & many paths are marked.
Our area was settled by the Etruscans so it's noted for its archeological sites.
There are museums in most towns, covering art, archeology, lace, wine & oil, to name but a few. Almost every church is an architectural monument with important paintings & frescoes internally.
Deruta is internationally famous for its hand painted ceramics.
Umbria is famous for the sheer number of fortified hilltop towns & villages, most from the medieval period which remain unspoiled.
It's perfect for experienced mountain bikkers.
Not only is there a small market in our local town, 8 minutes by car, but also in most other towns on other days.
Arezzo is home to the largest antiques fair in Italy held the 1st weekend of the month in the streets & squares of the town.
Our location is perfect for exploring both Umbria & Tuscany. Within easy drive in Umbria are: Perugia, Assisi, Gubbio, Deruta, Orvieto & Lago Trasimeno & in Tuscany: Pienza, Arezzo, Cortona, Siena & Florence.
Both districts of Italy are famous for their winemaking & one may easily reach some of the most important vineyard in:
Orvieto
Montefalco
Mont elcino
Montepulciano

Notes: Perugia Golf Club
This is an 18 hole course par 72, in undulating parkland with driving range & putting green, with 2 resident professionals in attendance.
There is also a clubhouse with restaurant & a swimming pool complex which welcomes children.
There is also a 9 hole course in Panicale less than 30 minutes drive |
