Description of facilities: The American style kitchen opens onto the dining area. It is fully equipped with a hob, oven, dishwasher, kettle, microwave, fridge. The freezer and washing machine are in the utility area. For babies and toddlers there’s a changing table, steriliser, plates, cups, cutlery, 2 high chairs, bouncy "chair" for babies, small soft armchair & moses basket.
Description inside property: The villa is situated in the heart of the Var's wine growing region, lying in a calm and peaceful area, surrounded by vines and trees. It is the perfect get away for relaxation and yet only a few minutes from all necessary amenities. The villa has most of the living space on one level. It has been totally renovated in 2004 with brand new kitchen and bathrooms & most of the villa has been repainted in 2007. The tiled kitchen opens onto the dining and salon which leads onto the terrace and pool (12m x 6m). The living area is comfortably furnished with a fire place, T.V., sofas and chairs. The 2 acre mature garden is surrounded by high hedges and is fenced off from the river at the bottom of the garden. Nearest neighbours are about 80m from our hedge. This is a great holiday home for families, either several generations of one family or two families. There is loads of space in the villa and gardens to have fun and games or to get away for those moments of peace and privacy
The large master bedroom (42m2) has an en-suite bathroom and walk-in wardrobe. There are french windows and a terrace off the master bedroom offering beautiful views of the garden. Other bedrooms on this level are: Twin 12m2, Twin 15m2 and large 24m2 double bedroom with a mezzanine (an additional 16m2) which can be used as a living area. The fifth bedroom (15m2) in the basement has an en-suite shower room. There is also a 'living area' with sofa, chairs, books and games just next to the fifth bedroom.
Both bathrooms have baths with hand showers, additional large separate shower 'rooms', toilets and basins. The en-suite shower room has a basin and mirrored cabinet.
Description outside property: The large under ground garage comfortably parks 2 cars and keeps them cool in the hot summer months. The terrace off the master bedroom, facing a large expanse of garden, is perfect for relaxing and enjoying the sounds of nature. Access to the second terrace (60m2) is via the 3 glass doors from the salon and dining room. This terrace is the main outdoor eating area (half shaded) with beautiful views over the garden and swimming pool. There is a BBQ unit on the terrace with table and chairs. Since there is so little air pollution in this area you are treated to a stunning display of stars at night as you sip your hot chocolate or finish off a glass of wine. The pool (12x6m) has a safely fence around it and the pool area is fully equipped with 10 sun loungers & umbrellas. The pool is heated outside July and August, when its too hot for heated pools! If you prefer to get a little closer to noture, you can enjoy a picnic by the river.
Description of eco friendly facilities: Our swimming pool is heated using a system which extracts the heat from the air temperature outside instead of oil or electricity to heat the water. Although it uses electricity to run the motor/fan.

Description of local area and activities: Local activities include: Tennis, bike hire, Canoes & Kayaks. There are several Golf courses within 35 mins drive. The beaches of St Raphael, Frejus, St Maxime and St Tropez are within 45 mins, as are the stunning lake St Croix and the Gorge du Verdun. You can visit vineyards for wine tasting, olive mills and gastronomic restaurants including the well known Chez Bruno in nearby Lorgues. Le Thoronet is the nearest village to the villa which is only 4 km or 5 minutes by car, with all the basic amenities (post office with a cash point, bakery, butchers, newsagents, 3 restaurants, bar, small convenience store, church, hotel). Close by there is the famous 12th Century Abbey of Le Thoronet which is definitely worth a visit. Lorgues is only 12km (15 mins drive) from the villa. It has a good choice of shops, restaurants, supermarkets and a large church.

Notes: Barbaroux golf club has a challenging course designed by Pete Dye and is one of Europes most prestigious golf clubs. Never payed here, but it looks beautiful.

Notes: Saturday to Saturday. Departures before 10.00 and arrivals from 15.00 onwards. There is a security deposit of 800 euros to cover breakages and damages, and will be returned shortly after departure less any charges. 50% of the total cost is required on booking, with the remainder and the 800 euro security deposit to be paid 2 months before arrival. If there is a cancellation, funds will only be returned if we get another booking for exactly the same period. There will be a chilled bottle of local Rose and water in the fridge to refreash after your journey as well as some basics such as toilett roll, tablets for the dishwasher and washing machine etc. If you are arriving late afternoon, on request we can arrange a food shop to be done for you for saturday night (supermarket open on sunday morning). |
