Description inside property: The apartment is on the ground floor of a detached villa set in a large established garden on the edge of a rustique unspoiled Catalan village with excellent local amenities a 5 minute walk away. The apartment was renovated in Spring 2007 and is light and airy with amazing mountain views. The bedroom will comfortably accommodate a couple using the double bed or a family of 3 or 4 as the single bed has a robust standard size pull out bed underneath. There is plenty of drawer and hanging space for clothing. There is a separate, well equipped dining kitchen and separate bathroom with shower, basin and toilet. Guests have use of the patio and outdoor dining area just outside the apartment which has garden furniture and a barbeque, as well as the rest of the large established garden. Hammocks and beach chairs are also available for use.

| Description of local area and activities: Nestled in the foothills of the Pyrenees, Villa Maureillas is an ideal base for a wide range of activities to suit just about everyone. Hiking, mountain walking and cycling are literally on our doorstep. We are 4km from the Spanish border so the Costa Brava, Girona and Barcelona are all accessible for a day trip. The Mediterranean coast is 20 minutes by car with long stretches of sandy beaches and watersports and sailing available at Argeles and St Cyprien and the historic, picturesque town of Collioure slightly further down the coast. The nearest town to us is Ceret, famous for its cherries, its modern art museum (which includes pieces by Picasso and Matisse) and its lively markets. During the summer months there are festivals, music and street entertainment of every kind almost weekly in the local towns and villages. Swimming, cycling, horse riding and trekking, watersports, tennis, thermal spas and other attractions including a waterpark are all available within a short distance. For the less active, why not enjoy wine tasting at one of the many local Vineyards or try some of the restaurants, casinos and bars. |

Notes: There are two golf courses within easy reach of Villa Maureillas.
The first is located on the coast at St Cyprien, approximately 25 minutes away. The St Cyprien Golf Club has two courses - an 18 hole Championship course and a 9 hole course. Both feature water hazzards and offer a challenge to experienced and inexperienced players alike. St Cyprien Golf Club is also home to the Patrick Lacroix Golf School.
Le Domaine de Falgos near Saint Laurent de Cerdans is a 650 hectare estate situated in the mountains close to the border with Spain. The par 70 golf course is a mountain course with some natural obstacles but designed for players of all abilities. Both group and individual lessons are available. The course is approximately 45 minutes drive from Villa Maureillas. |

Notes: Our closest ski resorts are between an hour and an hour and a half's drive away and include Les Angles and Font Romeu. The resorts can also be reached by taking the 'Little Yellow Train' - which is famous for being the tourist train which travels at the highest altitude in Europe and so provides wonderful views all year round.
Andorra with its ski resorts is also just over 2 hours drive away. |

Notes: The studio apartment is available all year round and except during high season (1 June to 31 August) can be rented on a per night basis with a minimum 2 night stay. Short stay rental rates can be provided on request. Our preferred change over day for weekly rentals is Saturday but we will be flexible whenever possible.
Towels and bed linen are provided and for longer stays these will be changed weekly. Rental also includes electricity and heating where required. A welcome pack is included for stays of one week or more and is available for an additional charge on shorter stays. Please ask for details.
A 30% reservation deposit is required in order to confirm a booking. The rental payment in full should be received at least one week prior to the start of the rental period. A 200 euro breakage deposit is also required (payable before or on arrival) which is refunded immediately the premises have been inspected following departure |
